About

Laura Sawosko is a Nashville singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her sixth album, “Not What I Do” released April 2025 is receiving well deserved accolades. “Laura’s new album only proves she’s making some of the most compelling music in the singer-songwriter space right now. “ - Indie Pulse Music. The infamous Pam Lewis and her incredible PR team at PLA Media on Music Row is assisting Laura in her release. Laura was signed to a Publishing deal shortly after her album release with Soundcrest Music Group. “Laura’s heartfelt songwriting and powerful voice make her one to watch.” - Skippy Chapman, President Soundcrest Music Group.

Laura is a true artist and storyteller.  She is passionate about her craft and expresses that unwavering dedication and service to her songs. “In a culture that demands perfection, Sawosko leans into the messiness of being human. She embraces the imperfect, the uncertain, the unresolved and gives us something that feels as real as the life it comes from.” - Melody Maker Magazine.

Laura began her ambitious solo career as a singer/songwriter in 2000 after she graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Broadcasting and Music Composition from Arizona State University.

Laura composed the original score for the gay friendly independent film, An Intimate Friendship, by Filling The Gap Productions. The film which also featured music by Melissa Etheridge, was acclaimed by audiences globally after headlining both national and international film festivals.

Not What I Do is a continuation of Sawosko’s journey, a path that has led her from playing keyboards for Surrender Dorothy at the 1999 Phoenix Lilith Fair to becoming a respected solo artist in Nashville, TN. “Her commitment to crafting songs with meaning has been a constant, and this album is no exception.” - The Hollywood Digest.

As a member of Chicks With Picks, she had the opportunity to open for Country artist Sarah Buxton and Michelle Branch. She later had the privilege of opening for another one of her mentors, Edwin McCain, on the Cayamo music cruise.

Laura moved to Nashville in 2010 to pursue her songwriting career. She quickly became affiliated with NSAI and ASCAP and has since worked with Olivia Management and PLA Media. She has performed at the famous Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room, The Local, Douglas Corner, Bobby’s Idle Hour and numerous other renowned local venues.  Laura is continuing to pursue her passion for film and television via sync placements led by Skippy Chapman, President and Chief Executive Officer at Soundcrest Music Group.

Laura Sawosko isn’t here for the smoke and mirrors. Her songs are a life lesson, a therapy session, and a damn good time all rolled into one. To quote Bart Herbison (Executive Director of NSAI) “Laura is legit. She is the real deal.”
